You’re an organized bride and you know exactly what you want.  Picture the day all your plans are in place and the time to enjoy your unforgettable wedding day is approaching.  A good day-of-wedding coordinator will allow you be the BRIDE on your wedding day and not worry about the details.

More reasons why you need a good Wedding Coordinator:

  • Your DJ, caterer, photographer, florist and all other vendors need one competent point-of-contact for all questions and instructions – and it shouldn’t be you or the groom.
  • You need someone to execute the itinerary of events during your wedding flawlessly and ensure everyone is where they should be at the right time.
  • Your job is to look beautiful and have a great time! You can’t be bothered with accommodating things like the extra guests that show up with no RSVP.
  • An impartial party should be present to “keep the peace” and make decisions as needed.  Weddings are emotional events, it’s not a good time to make logistical decisions when you’re re-connecting with the cousin you haven’t seen in 20 years.
  • Wedding Coordinators have seen it all, and they can foresee an issue before it becomes a problem. A professional can take preventative measures to make your wedding run smoothly.

A good wedding coordinator has the ability to work with several different personalities and still get the job done.  Remember, it’s just as important to feel your best on your wedding day as it is to look your best.

As an event planner I always advise my clients (especially the overly anxious type) when planning a party or event to begin with the end in mind.  To get a little deeper, think of think of the type of energy you want at your party and plan accordingly.

Here are some more helpful tips to make the party happen harmoniously.

  1. Don’t complicate the food.  It’s a great to have an unusual appetizer or a trendy entree to get people talking, but don’t over do it.  You’d be surprised how traditional party foods like chips and salsa with a tasty twist can go a long way.  Use blue corn tortilla chips along with yellow and white, serve hot, medium, and mild salsa.
  2. Be cool.  Take it easy, you’re the host!  The point of any party is to have fun. There’s nothing worse than a sweaty, stressed out host or hostess still wearing baggy sweat pants and a tee shirt when the party starts.  Remember that you’re there to have fun too.
  3. Know your audience, in this case, your party guests.  That statement may be overused, but it’s true!  If you plan on playing drinking games and dancing until you sweat, don’t invite your bible-thumping aunt and uncle.  Yes, they’re very sweet and they’ve known you since you were a child, but in the end they will very uncomfortable when your friends you went to school with have too many shots and start hooking up with your neighbors.
  4. Don’t forget the hook.  Give your party guests something to remember.  Whether it’s an unusual dish, a cool party favor, or an awesome performance (by a professional), make them want to come to your next party.
